“We loved diving with the Dive Machine! In total we did 12 dives (6x cenotes, 4x playa reef, 2x Cozumel) and our nitrox certification. The team was very welcoming and explained everything very well. Adrian took the time to explain everything before and tailor the plan to our wishes in a 30-minute video chat. That same day we got certified for nitrox by Freya which she explained very well! The reef is rich in marine life and we saw turtles, large nurse sharks amongst many other species. Most special for us were the cenote dives with Poncho and Ricardo. We initially planned 3 dives (dos ojos & the pitt) which are level 1, 2 and 3. We loved it sooo much that we asked if we could do more cenote dives on the next day which was possible. We then dove in Angelita, which was my personal favourite, and finished off with Dream Gate. All of these are unique and different experiences, highly recommend asking for them! We also did 2 dives with Paulina in Cozumel, which they facilitated very well. All of these dives were great and interesting, making our time in the Playa Region unforgettable. Thank you and see you again! ❤️”

Playa del Carmen & the Riviera Maya

The cenotes of the Riviera Maya are located along the Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, between the towns of Playa del Carmen and Tulum. These underground sinkholes formed over millions of years as limestone bedrock dissolved, creating vast cave systems filled with crystal-clear freshwater.

The climate is tropical year-round — air temperatures hover between 25-33°C (77-91°F), and cenote water stays a constant 25°C (77°F) regardless of season. This makes cenote diving a year-round activity with no seasonal restrictions. The dry season (November to April) offers the most comfortable weather, while the rainy season (May to October) brings dramatic rain effects that many divers find equally stunning.

The Dive Machine operates from Playa del Carmen, providing transport to cenotes throughout the region. Most cenotes are 30-60 minutes by road. Check diving requirements before your trip.
