“Our first trip with the Dive Machine was 2023 as tourist divers and had a brilliant time with two dives on the Playa De Carmen reef. Back on hols again in 2025 and another trip was on our must do list. This time booked direct which was very easy and cheaper than through the holiday company. They pick up and collect and was fully covered under our standard holiday insurance. Wanted a different trip this time which they understood so we did Tulum with the wonderful Freya. She is professional yet fun which is exactly what you need. Put us all at ease. Surprised at how much of the basics we retained from the first trip and and Freya persuaded us to take it the next step to the open water quification. Was not a hard or pressurised sell, just if you loved it again, why not go for it. Cost of the first dive taken off as went towards the qualification. Another day with the wonderful Freya and training in a cenote rather than a pool was just amazing. On the 3rd and final day of training, passed over the equally lovely Paulina for 2 more dives. Get the photo/video package and tell them up front that you want/interested - I think it focuses the mind on more pictures and video. They show it to you after the dive and before you pay. Never felt pressurised to buy but after 23' and 25' bought both times as fantastic memories. For me a must. Got video of my kids at 10m down playing rock/paper/scissors 😂 Summary Very professional with the right level of fun and enthusiasm from the instructors. Might be a while before I can afford Mexico again but I know what will at the top of my must do list - another trip with the Dive Machine.”

“We were staying in Cozumel and TDM went above and beyond trying to get us diving when Cozumel port was closed. We had limited time to get our kids thru their check off dives and with the uncertainty of opening of the port, we reached out to the dive machine shop and they we enthusiastic and bent over backwards to help us get the kids dives completed. The wind died down and Cozumel reopened, so we ultimately stayed put. If diving in PDC or the cenotes, I will absolutely go with them. Four thumbs up!!!!”

Playa del Carmen & the Riviera Maya

The cenotes of the Riviera Maya are located along the Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, between the towns of Playa del Carmen and Tulum. These underground sinkholes formed over millions of years as limestone bedrock dissolved, creating vast cave systems filled with crystal-clear freshwater.

The climate is tropical year-round — air temperatures hover between 25-33°C (77-91°F), and cenote water stays a constant 25°C (77°F) regardless of season. This makes cenote diving a year-round activity with no seasonal restrictions. The dry season (November to April) offers the most comfortable weather, while the rainy season (May to October) brings dramatic rain effects that many divers find equally stunning.

The Dive Machine operates from Playa del Carmen, providing transport to cenotes throughout the region. Most cenotes are 30-60 minutes by road. Check diving requirements before your trip.
