Our Commitment
The Dive Machine is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We are working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we keep improving the site so that everyone can find the information they need to plan their dives.
What We Have Done
- Clear structure: each page has a single main heading and its content is organized in ordered sections, which helps screen reader users navigate.
- Content always visible: important information, descriptions and buttons are not hidden behind hover effects or delayed by entrance animations.
- Alternative text: images that convey information have descriptive alternative text in English and Spanish, and decorative images are marked as such.
- Responsive design: the website adapts to phones, tablets and computers.
- Language identification: every page declares its language, and our content is available in English and Spanish, with links between both versions.
- Lighter pages: optimized images and fewer heavy scripts, so the website loads faster on slow connections.
Known Limitations
We know there is still work to do. Some older content, such as blog articles, may not meet every WCAG criterion. Embedded third-party content, such as maps, videos and the chat button, may not be fully accessible. We are working to fix these issues.
Inclusive Diving
At The Dive Machine, accessibility goes beyond our website. We offer adapted diving experiences for people with disabilities, and our team works with each person to accommodate their specific needs, so that everyone can experience the underwater world.
