Diving in Tulum is available year-round. Water temperatures remain comfortable, ranging from 25°C to 28°C. The best time of year for diving in both cenotes and reefs is from October to April. The famous beams of light at El Pit are best seen from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., when the sun is directly overhead (during the summer).

Tulum is uniquely situated to offer cenote and reef diving with nearby Mayan ruins. The cenotes feature natural rock formations and mysterious caves illuminated by natural light, while the reefs boast vibrant marine biodiversity. This combination creates an unforgettable diving experience.
Tulum is approximately 50 kilometers (30 miles) south of Playa del Carmen, about a 45-minute drive. We can arrange hotel pickups and transportation to the dive sites for an additional fee. The scenic drive along the Caribbean coast adds to your overall experience.
Cave diving certification isn't always required. We offer cavern dives that are more accessible to recreational divers. For cave exploration, we recommend our cave diving courses. Our experienced guides will tailor the experience to your skill level and certification.
