Open Water Certification in Playa del Carmen
Become a certified diver in Playa del Carmen with The Dive Machine. The SSI Open Water Diver course is the first level of recreational diving and certifies you to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 18 meters.
Your First Diving Certification
The Open Water Diver certification is recognized worldwide and is the first level of certification in recreational diving. It shows that you have the knowledge and skills to dive safely and responsibly in open water. With The Dive Machine you train with experienced SSI instructors in small groups, in one of the best places to learn: the crystal-clear water of the Caribbean, its coral reefs and its tropical fish. Our Open Water courses can also include cenote dives as part of the training.

When to Take Your Course
You can take your Open Water course all year round: the water in Playa del Carmen stays between 25 and 28 °C. The course is usually completed in about three days, combining theory, confined water training and open water dives.

The Open Water Diver course is usually completed in about three days, combining theory, confined water training and four open water dives supervised by your instructor.
