The Underwater River of the Riviera Maya
From the surface, Angelita looks like a pond in the jungle, about 25 meters across and surrounded by lush vegetation. Below, it drops to around 60 meters. The highlight of the dive is the hydrogen sulfide cloud at about 30 meters: a dense layer that creates the illusion of an underwater river flowing through the cenote. It is a deep dive with a surreal atmosphere and one of the most unique experiences in the Riviera Maya.

A Little About Angelita...
Angelita is in the Tulum area, less than an hour south of Playa del Carmen. Because of its depth, it requires Advanced Open Water certification and deep diving experience, and our guides plan the dive to reach the sulfide cloud safely. For technical divers, Angelita also offers a deeper option beyond recreational limits.

Angelita reaches a depth of about 60 meters (197 feet). The famous hydrogen sulfide cloud is at about 30 meters, which is where recreational dives go.
You need an Advanced Open Water certification and experience with deep dives. If you only have Open Water, we recommend cenotes such as Dos Ojos or Casa Cenote, or taking your Advanced course with us first.

Cenote Angelita is in the Tulum area of the Riviera Maya, less than an hour's drive south of Playa del Carmen. We have daily departures from Playa del Carmen and can arrange hotel pickup for an additional fee.
Our cenote diving packages include all equipment (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, tanks, weights, fins, mask and dive light), a certified SSI guide, two cenote dives, lunch, snacks and water. Round-trip transportation is available for an additional fee. Cenote entrance fees are paid by the diver.
